Fintel partners with Verve Foundation, investing in the future of financial advice

Fintel and the Verve Group have announced a sponsorship agreement with Fintel sponsoring the training of half of the next cohort of We Are Change participants, giving them the opportunity to gain financial qualifications without any financial barriers.

The Verve Group are delighted to be working with Fintel on this initiative, who have praised the initiative as vitally important to support the sector and its growth, stating that its incumbent upon business like itself to do so.

We Are Change is part of The Verve Foundation, The Verve Group’s not for profit arm which provides free training and qualifications to those looking to start a career in financial services. It’s made possible by recruiting and connecting altruistic individuals and businesses, such as Fintel, who understand their role as change-makers, encouraging sponsorship and matching them up with qualified candidates who will complete the programme. The Verve Group’s training company The Art of Finance provides all the training content and support needed to successful individuals who access the programme.

  • We Are Change started in April 2021 with Cohort 1
  • There have been almost 1,000 applications in total since launching
  • As of July 2022, We Are Change is recruiting its sixth cohort
  • In total the students have put in over 1670 hours of study so far

From Cat, one of the WAC students: “When I was studying at university, I really didn’t think there was another career option available for me, other than accountancy – and so to hear about this initiative and many option of careers available to me has been incredible. I can now take all the skills that I’ve developed from uni but apply it into a different world that I didn’t really knew existed until now.”

The stories that come from the students only reinforce why this initiative is so important - they are truly inspiring. We Are Change could not exist without the involvement of businesses like Fintel – a forward-thinking firm that is looking to help solve the industry-wide issue of the advice gap. Fintel are investing in the future of finance, and you can too.

Matt Timmins said:

“We are proud to be supporting the Verve Foundation and be part of the We Are Change initiative. We exist to inspire better outcomes in retail financial services, an incredibly important sector that helps people throughout their life. Ensuring that financial advice continues to thrive and meet evolving consumer needs is our core purpose and fundamental to that is broadening access to and talent in the industry. I look forward to seeing the benefits for all involved.’’

Cathi Harrison, CEO of The Verve Group says:

“We are blown away by the level of commitment Fintel are showing by sponsoring so many students. We hope that other companies will be inspired by their generosity to make moves in being the change we need in financial services.”
